The Heartbeat of Lafitte

Our proposal aims to transform this site into a dynamic hub in the heart of town by creating the “Lafitte Bayou Walk” and overlook, offering centrally-located public water access with a new kayak rental shop and launch, adding a locally-owned coffee shop and bar, revitalizing the health center and town hall through new construction and enhanced resiliency programming, constructing wetlands in already existing low areas, and establishing a central, gathering space known as the Lafitte Plaza.
